New Bathroom, No Budget Needed

While it sure would be nice to have a bathroom large enough for a whirlpool tub, shower, double sinks and a sitting area, the reality is bathrooms are often smaller. Just because the square footage might not be there doesn’t mean you have to feel dated or boxed in.

There are several quick, cost-effective ways to make your bathroom feel larger, luxurious and up to date. And when the time comes to do some structural changes, Kruse Home Improvement is here!

Paint

Color can go a long way toward giving you the ambiance you want. And since the walls are usually broken up by mirrors and hardware, you can get away with more vibrant colors to wake up the walls. For a calm, spa-like environment, think dove-gray with white trim. Keep in mind the type of paint you should use; a semi-gloss finish will help with cleaning, since it resists mildew.

Update hardware

From changing out towel racks to updating cabinet hardware, small changes can make a big impact. From sleek Lucite handles to colorful knobs, it’s an inexpensive way to change up the look.

Switch mirrors

If your mirrors are heavy or older, it may be time to make a change. Wood- or white-framed mirrors can create a clean, nautical setting. If you crave a more contemporary quality, go frameless with an oval or rectangular beveled-edge mirror.

Change lighting

So many people underestimate the impact good lighting can have in any room, and your bathroom is no exception. Clear out displayed light bulbs in lieu of softer fixtures.
